During each semester the students take at least one field trip, either within the country where the university is based, or even a neighbouring country. Some of these field trips last more than one day, thus giving students the opportunity to really explore a new destination in depth. Apart from this, the program leaves the students enough free time to explore Europe in whichever way they would like, and to learn more about tourism in Europe.
5. Does the EMTM curriculum include an obligatory internship?
Internships are not an obligatory part of the EMTM programme. EMTM students can graduate after they have passed all their exams and have completed their Master Thesis successfully. However, the programme encourages students to pursue internships and other summer jobs and tries to support them as much as possible to that effect by giving them letters of recommendation, helping them meet and socialize with salient people within the tourism field and forwarding them opportunities in the EMTM Alumni group.
6. Is it possible for an EMTM student to work during the duration of the programme?
EMTM is a full-time programme. Therefore, students do not have enough time to pursue a full-time job during the two years of their studies. However, students are encouraged to pursue summer jobs and internships, as well as other educational programmes (e.g. language courses).
7. Where can I find more information on the EMTM programme?
You are welcome to check the EMTM Facebook and Instagram profiles run by current and previous EMTM students where you may find useful information. Should you need further information, the EMTM Secretariat is available to answer your queries: emtm@emtmmaster.net.
